Fentanyl (Opioid) Awareness for Employees - Hotel Version
A Complete Guide to Keep Employees Safe from Fentanyl Contamination in the Workplace.
60 minute, computer based training with quizzes - Access on mobile or desktop - Certificate of completion - English and Spanish (Auto) - Last Updated on 4/2023
This program is designed to educate employees working in environments who may come into contact with fentanyl.
The purpose of the Safety Services Management Fentanyl Awareness Program is to increase awareness and decrease fentanyl exposures in the work environment. In Northern California, a housekeeper unknowingly cleaned a room that was contaminated with fentanyl. Within minutes while vacuuming a contaminated area, she died leaving two young kids behind.
Safety Services Management’s online training goal is designed to educate cleaning staff on the hazards of fentanyl and how to identify a dangerous situation to stop these types of tragic events from reoccurring.
We also offer a supervisor course which provides management the resources and tools they need to manage a fentanyl incident.
What Students will Learn
Students will learn about opioids, the history of fentanyl, the different types of fentanyl analogs and how our nation found ourselves in this fentanyl overdose crisis.
Students will learn about where fentanyl is commonly found, how accidental exposures occur and why fentanyl is being mixed into common street drugs.
After taking this course, students will be able to identify signs of a fentanyl cutting or pill press operation.
Students will learn how fentanyl enters the body and what is the most common way for accidental exposure.
Students will learn what situations “Shout Watch Out” and the steps to take to protect themselves, co-workers and guests.
Students will also learn about the “Stop Work Authority Process,” take home hazards and what to do if they or a co-worker becomes exposed to fentanyl.
Our course also provides training on when and how to administer Naloxone and reviews the Good Samaritan Law. (This portion of the training can be removed per company request)
